I’m a scientist specializing in inorganic-materials chemistry and space resources with a passion for helping others communicate their science effectively. I believe a sustainable future requires robust scientific advances guided by environmentally-conscious problem-solving. I am driven to pursue objectives where I can improve the lives of others through sustainable innovation and its effective implementation.
My scientific writing & research has appeared in several scientific journals including ACS Chemistry of Materials and ACS Inorganic Chemistry.
I create opportunities for scientists to develop their science communication skills through my online coaching platform, SpeakScienceNow, which focuses on three primary keystones: storytelling, data visualization, and personal presence.
I engage in public outreach through a variety of community organizations. During my graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania, I collaborated with teams from the Penn State Center for Nanoscale Science and the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA to develop science education modules for the Mission: Materials Science platform. Additionally, through a graduate fellowship sponsored by NASA and the Pennsylvania Space Grant Consortium, I coordinated community public outreach events accordant with NASA's strategic objectives. Recently I've started publishing a monthly space resources newsletter, SpaceHarvest, to provide insights into this growing space sector.
In my free time, I assist families with genealogical research. I have recently published a biography about a long-forgotten baseball legend.
As a lifelong learner, I’m currently studying Space Technologies and Business at the University of Luxembourg, where I focus on the potential use of space resources. I hold a B.S. in Chemistry from Denison University (2017) and a Ph.D. in Inorganic-Materials Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania (2023).
